A look back at 2008

I am cheating this year with our christmas cards. It has just been one of those months where I decided this was the best I could do. Live has been great for us. I can not believe the year is almost over.

JoAnn started school this year and is loving it. She will turn six in February and she can't wait. She is absolutely amazing about being mom's big helper. It has been hard having her gone during the day, but as soon as she is home, she wants to do what I do. She is already reading some books and loves to sound out words and spell anything she can.

Jay will be four next month and is so excited to finally get to be in Primary. He is not my big helper around the house and love to be a protective big brother to Savanna. He is definately ALL BOY and love anything messy, dirty, or anything his dad is doing.

Savanna is now 21 months and has become our little spit fire. She is so much fun and loves to be the center of attention. She is definately strong willed and it is amazing how much she is understanding. She is not talking in full sentences and suprising me every day. She is also my cuddle bug and can't seem to get enough of dad or mom.

Alan is still working for Auto Owners. We are so grateful with the economy that he has a job, but we still would love to get up north. Alan is an amazing dad and husband and the kids adore him. As soon as he walks in the door, mom is no longer important. Alan started school up again last semester and between school, work, and his calling (2nd Counselor in the Elder's Quorum) he has definatetly been busy. Somehow he still finds time to cook Sunday dinners and help around the house!

I am loving my life. My kids definately keep me busy, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I am still with the Young Women and wouldn't want any other calling. I also started school up this last semester and was amazed how much I enjoyed learning again. I was able to do all my classes online and should be able to for the next two semesters. I am hoping to get into the nursing program in the fall...we will see what life has in store for us.

We are so blessed and grateful to be together during this time of year. We will get to spend Christmas in St. Johns and my kids are praying for snow! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Football and Halloween

That goes from one of my favorite things to my least favorite thing ever. I am not a Halloween fan at all! We were able to go to Alan's brother, Travis', game last Saturday. The weather was perfect and travis did amazing. Then we had a Laurel/Priest activity that everyone went as famous couples through history. Alan was so good to dress up with me and my friend Kaci was great to outfit us. I do have to say it was nice to get all dressed up fancy. I mean, how many times to mom's get to do that? Tonight was our ward trunk or treat. I forgot the camera there, and so we had to take these when we got home. You will notice it was a little hot and JoAnn's clown make didn't really stay on that great :)

Mud Bogging

Because of the long weekend we were back in Thatcher to get to be with family. On Monday my brother Tom brought two four wheelers over to my mom's for everyone to ride. He found some fun mud holes and we decided to go mud bogging. It was really my first time as you can tell with my clothes. By the time we were done we were covered head to toe, but it was a blast. We even got my mom to do it!!

Okay...I got stuck!!

Go Me! I was the only one to get stuck and the only one to almost flip. I was so sure I was going to face plant right in the mud.

I jumped off to try and help, but all it needed was 4-wheel drive :o

And look how clean I stayed! Do you like my new mud shoes? Pretty fashionable right!

This was the biggest mud hole and it was a blast!

Can you see how clean I am?

It was alway great when we finally made it out of the mud hole :)

Mom brought her golf cart and went through once then just watched with Maci and Savanna.

Good Luck Levi!!

My little brother Levi flew out with my parents early this morning for the MTC. He will report tomorrow and will be in the MTC for only 3 weeks. He then goes straight to Melbourne, Austrailia. I am so excited for him and so grateful for the example he is setting for all of us. This is on Sunday right before his farewell. He did amazing and it was so fun to have all 10 kids there. We got family pictures and I will post those a little later!

First Day Of School

I can't believe that JoAnn is in school. I feel like I lost my best friend from 8-3:00. She is so excited about it and is having a blast so far. This is her on the first day. Her school has uniforms so there isn't much to do except try to have fun with her hair. She had a little bit of a meltdown at first, but by the time she got home she was ready to go right back.

Posing for the camera!

Like I said...I love to go crazy with the hair! girlydos.blogspot.com has some awesome ideas.

Doesn't she look so small with that huge backpack :)

Daddy left before she woke up, so he called to tell her good luck! She was so excited that he would remember.

Jay started to cry when she left and then said, "Now I have no one to play with." I think he forgot he has another sister. :)

For the first day of school, Mary Ann showed me how to make these really cute clip boards for the teacher. JoAnn was so excited to give it to her teacher!

Right after this picture I tried to walk out and JoAnn came running after me. I think she suddenly understood that I wasn't going to be staying at school with her. My friend Amber was so good to go and check on her a little while later and she said that she looked nervous, but had stopped crying.

The 24th in St. Johns

Okay! I am back again...but who nows for how long :) This is going to be a long post so bear with me. I love our tradition of going to St. Johns for the 24th celebration. It is always so much fun and we love getting out of the heat. This year was also alot of fun because my brother Levi did quite a bit events in the Rodeo. It is just a blast to be with family and let the kids experience a little bit of country life :)

This is Levi doing the Cowhide Race. That is my little nephew holding on for dear life behind him...but he won!

This is called the KEG RACE. It is kind of like musical chairs. You start sitting on the crate, then when they say go you have to jump up onto your horse, race to the other side and come back and sit down. Of course they take away one crate every time. Levi came in first on this one also!!

This is all the cousins at the parade. The older boys and all the men went fishing so it was just us girls.

JoAnn and Savanna in their matching outfits. (I love OLD NAVY clearance)

The kids always look forward to the parade...just to see how much candy they get!

The last thing in the parade is the fire truck. It hoses down all the kids and they have a blast:)

This is my brother Steven and JoAnn. Him and his wife came all that way to support Levi! I have an amazing family.

Levi with the two girls. I can't believe he leaves in 3 weeks. It is coming way too fast, but he is going to be an amazing missionary.

Jay with my nephew Blake. Can you tell they were enjoying their candy?

Kaylee and JoAnn at the rodeo.

What an awesome family we have that we try to support eachother in everything. Everyone here came over just to watch Levi in the rodeo...can you tell who the favorite is? j/k it is just his "last" before his mission and we are realizing how much we are going to miss him.

JoAnn, Jay, and Blake at the rodeo.

I love this picture. It is so much fun to be able to go home and let my kids get to do the same things I was doing at their age in the same town too.

Every year there is a free ice cream social. It is so nice outside always and the ice cream is so good! This is right after I cleaned them up, but I should have gotten one of them covered in ice cream.

Happy Independance Day!!

Happy 4th! We had a blast. We were able to just hang out during the day and let the kids go swimming. Then we did a BBQ and watched the fireworks. It was so fun to be with friends and nice not to have to fight traffic.

Could you tell how excited JoAnn was that I let her put on those temporary tattoos?

These are some friends of ours...they all have the same shirt, just different colors.

Our crazy kids!!!

They loved the fireworks. We were only about a football field away from where they setting them off. I loved to hear the noise, and my kids actually did really good to.

I do have to compliment Coolidge. They have amazing fireworks. There is never a dead spot and there are usually quite a few fireworks at a time. I thought we had come to the grand finally at least three times before the actual one, and then it went on for almost 4 minutes.
