Fun Times

Sara is smiling so much now and has finally figured out how to make some noise. This isn't the greatest video, but I just had to share.

Catch Up

Okay. This may be a really long post. To start with, we moved! We are now in St. Johns. Alan got a call up three Sunday's ago and said he had gotten the job we had applied for here in St. Johns at SRP. And then they said we have a week to move. AHHH! Well, for anyone that knows us, this is our 10th move in the almost 8 years since we have been married. We were able to get everything moved and we are loving it here. We are staying with Alan's parents for now. They have been great and my kids think this is the best thing to live with Grandma and Grandpa and Jay is loving having uncles to play with.
Alan's birthday was the 19th...the day he started work. He said it was the best present he could have had. It was crazy hectic but we were able to get him some small things. I hope he knows how much I love him. He is amazing and I am so lucky that he is in my life.

We are now living alot closer to Alan's grandparents and we were able to get a 5 generation picture.

It snowed only a few days after we moved here. This is what we woke up to and it was so much fun. This is the weather that I love!


We also blessed Sara last Sunday. It was so great to have family here and it was such a special blessing. My mother in law helped me to make her dress. She is an amazing semstress and I am having alot of fun learning how to sew the right way!

One week old...

I can't believe it has only been a week since Sara came. She is such a good baby! She only cries if she is hungry or tired and even then it is still a cute cry. I am loving that now because I know it isn't going to last forever.

Well, just a quick recap on the labor...I was enduced last Monday which was 6 days early. I have an amazing Dr. and he said I could pick my due date, and of course 9 months pregnant I wanted to go asap :) We went into the hospital about 9 am, but they didn't even get me hooked up to IV or the Pit until around 10:30. Believe it or not, I was able to get about an hour worth of rest before the contractions were too hard. My Dr. came in about 1:30 and broke my water since I had just decided to get the epideral. Right after they gave me my epideral my mom and sister were in visiting me and I started to feel really weak. I called the nurse in and my blood pressure had dropped to something like 60/32. They said that is common after an epideral, but it was really weird. They said I looked like a ghost for a little while. That actually happened twice, but then we were good to go. I started to feel pressure about 6:30 and they said I was at an 8. My two sisters were able to be in there with Alan and I for the delivery. It was so amazing to have them there, but I did miss my mom. She was so great and had all the kids at home (not just mine but my two sisters too.) Mom you are incredible! It really has been an amazing recovery too. I am so blessed to be able to have it so easy!

Sara Wahl

We are so excited to finally have Sara here. She was born at 7:54 pm on Monday the 28th. She was 8 lbs even 19 1/2 inches long. Her family is so glad to have her home and is loving her to death!

Prego Girls

I love these girls! It was so much fun to get to see two of my really good friends from Coolidge. We were all in Young Women's together in Coolidge and one by one we have moved into Mesa. We are all within a month of each other on our due dates. This may be the only prego pic you see of me. I only have 2 1/2 weeks to go! YEAH!!!!!!

Projects

I don't know what it is about this pregnancy, but I have wanted to do so many projects. I am posting this one mainly for my benefit to prove that I did do something! If you want any patterns for anything, just let me know. I will find the sight again and post it for you. My friend Amber is the one who gave me most of the ideas. She is the Craft Queen!!

These are my favorite and most easy projects. They are bandanna dresses and shirts. It was literally four stitches and then adding ribbon and I thought my girls looked so cute in them. Of course I am a little bias :)

This is one of those "Hooter hiders." I found the simplest pattern and since there were five of us having babies, and one cousin, I decided these were easy gifts. I made this the bobby pillow below and a baby sling carrier as a set for each one of us. Such an easy gift and a lot less expensive then the store bought ones.


This is a doodle bag...or sunday bag for my kids. It is so simple and hold the kids scriptures and a notepad on one side and then crayons for them on the other. They are only allowed to take what fits in the bag on Sunday. It is so nice for them to carry their own things.

My mother in law was down her not too long ago and helped me to recover my car seat. She did most of the work, and I love how it turned out!

This is such a simple apron made from a dish cloth! Dollar store find :)

These are wipee boxes that I covered. I had leftover everything and loved trying this out. So much cuter than just plain ones!

This is a towel backpack. I was able to get three backpacks from one towel and then each kid got different ribbon. We live close to a pool so it will be so nice for them to carry their own towels.

All the baby bows and flowers. There are also binkie holders and bracelets! Savanna was very jealous that this is not all for her, so of course we had to make her a few bracelets.

This is a diaper and wipes holder. I got the idea from a baby gift that my sister got!

All of the burp rags. I was getting out all the baby clothes and trying to get them washed and couldn't find my old burg rags anywhere. So of course I just had to make some more! I love these ones. They are just cloth diapers with ribbon sewed on. So easy and so cute!

First Day of School

JoAnn's first day of school. Isn't she the prettiest 1st grader you have ever seen? She was a little scared...it was a new school in a new town but she did so good. The night before we put her in bed at 8:30. She couldn't fall asleep until after 10:30 because she was so nervous. Then she was up at 6:00! I hadn't planned on waking up until after 6:30. I love the pic with her by the playground. She just looks too grown up!

Well, after MaryAnn's baby finally was able to go home we decided to follow her down to Thatcher. I always love going home and my kids just love being outside. We were originally only going to stay for three days, but we ended up staying a week. I have a very understanding husband! We were able to be there over the 24th and loved watching my brothers Levi and Travis in the rodeo. Then the next night we were so glad to have Steven and Kami let us crash at their house for the parade and fireworks! My kids just love the country life and I couldn't get Savanna off the horse. When we came home all she could talk about was "Inbinsible" or invicible which is Levi's horse!

New Babies

I am so excited about our families two new additions. My brother Phillip and his wife Kristy had a little boy on Saturday evening.

Timothy Hinckley Palmer was 8 lbs. 8 oz.

After a hard labor and eventually a c-section, my sister Mary Ann had her first little boy.

Nash Palmer Layton was 8 lbs. 7 oz.

Both babies are adorable and the Moms are doing good. Nash is in the Special Care Nursery because he is having some difficulty breathing. They hope that he will be out tomorrow and Mary Ann and Wayne are looking forward to getting to hold him a little more. I love you both and think you did amazing!!

I'm Back...at least for now!

Okay, so I just got called out on updating my blog! I didn't realize how long it had been. Just a few pics and updates...JoAnn graduated kindergarden. I am starting to feel old now, but she was so cute and even had a speaking part in her final class play.



Jay still keeps us laughing. He loves family reunions...there are more boys and as he puts it, "we have too many girls at home."


Savanna sprained her foot. She thought she could jump off the bed like JoAnn and Jay! it was so sad to see, but she loved being held! She wants to do everything like JoAnn, including curlers. Although she only left them in for about 30 minutes.



We have now moved to Mesa. Thank you to everyone that helped. We really feel sad to leave our ward in Coolidge, but we are grateful that we are closer to family and doctors :) On the 27th of June we were able to go to Flagstaff and celebrate my Palmer Grandparent's 90th birthdays and 70th wedding anniversary. It was so great to get to share that with so much family.


Now that I have done a quick recap, the 4th weekend was so fun for us. My brother Phillip and his wife invited us for their ward breakfast. They had a watermelon eating contest and JoAnn and Jay did the kid one, and Alan WON the adult one. GO BABE! Then we came home and just relaxed before going to swim and have a BBQ with some friends. (Thanks Corie and Brian). We were in the pool for almost 4 hours and the kids were still mad when we went home :) Savanna is our little dare devil in the pool and loved jumping off the diving board. JoAnn did a perfect dive and I have no idea where she learned it from. And of course, Jay was hanging out and loved to shoot everyone with the water gun :)

Monthly Update :)

I said I was back into the swing of things and look how long it took me to update again. This will be another long update, but don't feel like you need to read it all. This is just my way of journaling...can you tell how good I am :) Life has been crazy busy and so much fun. Levi is home and still in pain. They are not sure what is going on still. They have found a few things that they are treating, but the pain is still there. He has gained back alot of energy and is able to go about his day pretty normally. He has never been one to complain no matter how bad he is hurting though.



Another great family tragedy (j/k)... my oldest brother Alan was in a car accident and broke his neck. His son was in the car with him, but he was completely fine. He had surgery on his neck and they fixed the breaks and fractures. He was having alot of pain in his arm and numbness, but after the surgery he said the pain is gone and he is getting feeling back. He should be good as new after he takes time to recover.

Alan got Suns tickets from a Lawyer that he used to work with...they were 2nd row right by visitor's bench. We got 4 tickets, 2 in second row and 2 in fourth row. We invited my brother Levi and Dad to take the other two tickets. My other brother Tom has season tickets and let me little brother Travis and nephew Bryce take those. It was amazing. I do love sports, but this is definately the way I like to watch!


Easter came and left so fast. This year I made their Easter dresses (pictures to come) and had so much fun doing this hair do on JoAnn. Time just go too fast.

I had a Dr. appointment and was able to hear the heartbeat after 15 minutes of looking. It was a little scary, but the nurse kept assuring me she heard movement and that it seemed like the baby was turning circles. We get to find out next month if it is a boy or girl! Jay assures us he already knows what it is and that the Dr. is wrong if he says girl :)
