New Projects

Okay. So every now and then I start to feel way lazy and decide to try a few new projects. These are what I have been working on lately. I really do love it when I finish a project...not always when I am doing it though :)

I saw this idea a while ago and wanted to try it out. You just get any can...I used a spaghetti sauce can (the bigger ones) and opened them with the can opener that leaves a smooth edge. Then you clean good and cover with cute paper. Cook your favorite cookies, fill them up and tie a bow! I thought it was a great visiting teaching gift or teacher appreciation!



I saw a different version of these...(alot cuter but way more expensive) and thought I would try them out myself. They were so easy. Just get a watch head (I found mine on clearance for $4) and then get beads, add clips and waalaa! And then just make as many bands as you want and switch them out. I am going to get alot of different colors!


I am so not great at making b-day cakes, but it is fun to see the kids faces when they see something new! So Easy and Savanna loved her PINK BIRTHDAY cake :)

These booties are so dang easy. A friend of mine wanted some for her boy so I had to see if I could do them first. I love them and they are going to be perfect when she starts to crawl so her knees don't get all scratched up! Don't you love that face :)

These have got the be the easiest cutiest skirts! Seriously 15 min skirts and my girls love to twirl them. We just called these their easter dresses this year! Way fun.

BEST FRIENDS!

We were so excited today that we got to go spend the day with our Best Friends. When we were in Coolidge we became good friends with Amber and Josh Wilkins. We both have girl, boy, girl, girl...and they are all pretty close in age (minus the last ones). They have since become our BEST FRIENDS. This is a friendship that I feel like you find once in a lifetime. Everyone gets along and just loves being together. It was so hard to leave Coolidge for so many reasons, but definitely we knew that we would not be able to see them very often. JoAnn cries often for Emmy and Emmy for her. It broke my heart today to see them when they saw each other. They both went running and almost knocked each other over and then didn't let go forever. And then the boys run and hit each other and were off! And then to say bye was so hard for the older girls. They were both trying so hard to be brave, but they had tears when we had to leave. It was so great for me to get to see Amber again too. She is amazing! She is one of those women that everyone just thinks is incredible. She watches kids, does crafts, has a beautiful home, and her kids always look so dang cute just to name a few. If anyone thinks I am crafty...I got most of my ideas from her. I just hope they know how much we miss them and we feel so lucky to have them in our life. We Love you guys and hope you get up here soon! :)

Happy 7th JoAnn

I can't believe I have one that is 7. It seems like she was born just yesterday. JoAnn is so amazing. She is one of the top students in her class and such a good girl. She is one of my best friends and loves to help out when ever she can. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY GIRL! This year I attempted to make a birthday cake. I actually had alot of fun and it was pretty easy!

I LOVE THE SNOW!!

Last night was such a perfect night. Alan and I went out to eat with some good friends and while we were there it started to snow. It was the perfect storm :) The snow flakes were huge and coming down hard. It only snowed for about an hour, but we got almost 4 inches of snow. My kids were out there first thing this morning and I had to convince them to come inside. We love living up here!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAY

Jay turned 5 this last Monday and I am a little late in this post. Jay is such an amazing boy. He has a sweet tender heart and loves his sisters! He is my big helper and always loves to be by dad! WE LOVE YOU BUD!

Our Holidays

Okay, so I am really behind so be ready for the longest post yet! The Holidays seem to get so crazy, and there is so much I need to update. This is more for journaling than anything else so sorry for the length.

This is at the semi-final state football game (St. Johns vs. Valley Christian). The cousins sat like this most of the time.

We were able to come home through Flagstaff and stop and see my Grandparents. This is great Grandma Palmer's first time to see Sara.

Alan's brother Darrin came home from his mission Dec. 5th. He was able to fly into ShowLow...it was so nice not to have to travel too far :)

JoAnn loves her class and most the boys love her :) I haven't heard of one girl from her class that she plays with yet. This is just after her Christmas music program and these are the friends she always plays with. (Brady Overson, JoAnn, Gage Tricky, and Byron Bradshaw)

The cousins got to make Christmas Trees out of sugar cones, frosting, and candy. It was a simplified version of a gingerbread house and they loved it.

It snowed the Tuesday night before Christmas. I thought it was a little ironic that we drove away from the a white Christmas, but it was so great to get to play in it for a day.

We were able to be in Thatcher this year for Christmas with 9 out of the 10 kids. My family has made it a tradition for dad to read the Christmas story from Luke and let the grandkids act it out. Dad always used to just read the story to us every Christmas Eve. It was so good to hear dad read that story again.

It is our tradition to let the kids hang their stockings on Christmas Eve so Santa can find them. We had my parents, my grandparents, my little brothers, Steven and his family, and our family all there for Christmas morning.

Another tradition is that Christmas morning everyone starts downstairs and eats an orange. Then we run up the stairs youngest to oldest. The kids could hardly stand having to wait.


On my side of the family there were 5 kids born in 3 1/2 months. This is the first time that all five were together. It starts with oldest on the left and goes down to Sara. It was no fun while I was pregnant to be the last one but now I love that Sara is the smallest.

And finally...New Year's Day. We went to up to Lakeside to have diner with family. The kids were so excited there was so much snow and loved playing in all their new snow clothes.

Sara is smiling so much now and has finally figured out how to make some noise. This isn't the greatest video, but I just had to share.
